Well dug sir, the Saâda Bonaire "You Could Be More As You Are" track has never come across my radar before...another one of those records that you wonder why it isn't more well known....I thought I detected a kinda skanking spatial dub vibe to the record and it all makes sense now as UK reggae/dub producer Dennis Bovell was at the producer controls (and also responsible for that killer steel guitar riff)...he produced such a range of great music in my collection; The Slits, Pop Group, The remix of The Raincoats classic 'Animal Rhapsody' and my favourite Viola Wills track Viola Wills "(Gonna Get Along) Without You Now""...actually second favourite, "If You Could Read My Mind" is my favourite but I digress
Strange, I know a lot of his work but never came across this before...actually records like this are usually kept a secret so the price doesn't go through the roof!
I am just drooling over the 12 inch version though cannot see any for sale...wonder what that sounds like??! And the other two tracks 'Invitation' and 'Funky Way'..whats the James Brown cover on the b-side like? Very interested to know...
the 12 inch is very hard to get but you must look at second hand record stores in germany. one friend find one 12 inch copy for 5 euro! the b side of the 12 is super too, invitation is killer, you can listen to it on youtube.
to listen and collect nice and rare disco, italo, 80's, cosmic and balearic music and mixes. our concern is to discover this music and inspire to search and buy after one original copy on vinyl or cd. we are ourselves some music lovin record collectors and djs and we want to make you happy with this music. enjoy!
all mp3 are for promotional, sampling purposes and for a short period of time, not with the intention for profit or to violate copyright. just tell us if you want something to be removed. buy records !
